Be Careful

Attitude of the heart is everything…

Things you regularly say are clear indicators of the attitude of your heart.

Pointing out the faults of everyone else won’t erase your own.

We all are guilty of it sometimes, but if we aren’t careful, it will take over our heart. We are at war with the spirit of this world…gotta stay alert and keep each other encouraged.

“A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” Luke 6:45

“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking,be put away from you, with all malice” Ephesians 4:31″Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” 1 Corinthians 15:33

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:2

“Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.” 1 John 4:8

Lord, today I ask that you give me grace to allow your Word to penetrate my heart…and cut away the uncleanness that’s in it. Help me to speak only words of encouragement. Help me to live by example in Jesus name.

  1. Condemnation is a cruel task master. Consider the source, I always say. Jealousy and spitefulness will usually not be too far back lurking in the shadows of condemnation. Today, I was reminded by something I heard from Joyce Meyer’s awhile back (paraphrased) “that yes, we are going to blow it from time to time but you don’t have to consider it the end of the world, right? Ask for forgiveness from Jesus, then MOVE ON!”

God will forgive you. He will not bring it back up again, so why should you. Don’t let anyone else bring condemnation upon you. Don’t let Satan bring condemnation upon you. Just move forward FORGIVEN…from moment to moment we walk in HIS GRACE, not our own ’cause we are human and prone to a sin nature.

It becomes easier to get rid of self-condemnation as time goes on and you practice forgiveness. True forgiveness…not shallow or superficial. God’s love is unconditional…that is our measure when we offend or we blow it and miss our mark that day. Simply say…”Forgive me, Lord.” (I will learn to stick my tongue out at the devil, next time!) Forgive yourself. Forgive and practice forgiveness daily.

You will find that self-condemnation is a waste of good time. Instead…love (pray for) those who spitefully use you. You don’t have to be their best friends but you don’t have to waste time on the games people play, either. Love covers a multitude of sin….so, cover yourself with the Love of Jesus!

Percy: It’s not an easy topic to address, your insights are spot on and these scriptures fit appropriately. Thank you for shinning God’s light on our “heart attitudes”. ~Zoey
