Are you wondering what the heck happened to your life??? You thought your dreams were attainable or at least you were hopeful. But there you sit, depressed. Alone. Drinking and doing drugs to unconsciousness. Nothing is interesting on T.V. Nothing is interesting…period. You hate your life, you hate this dead-end job, your family doesn’t understand you and the so-called friends in your life are disappointing, at best!
The sounds in your mind beat like angry spirits. Hey, I know this is a confusing time. I am certain that death is not the answer. You might have thought about killing yourself. Don’t do it! Just don’t think that way! You don’t have to take your life to escape the pain of disappointments, in yourself, in people you trusted, in failed plans.
I don’t have an answer why we get to these places in life. We made a wrong turn and ended up here, nowhere. Blame it on drugs, sex and rock n’ roll, blame it on crime, blame it on a bad marriage, blame it on someone, someplace…something, right? But avoidance only carries you so far and then you have to look at yourself. So, let’s not blame, okay?
Here is an exercise that might help. You can do it right where you are sitting. Close your eyes or just look down (in case you’re in public). Ask yourself, what do you have to lose if you give your life to Christ Jesus? Be honest. Be real. Review your decline over the last few days, months or years. What if I told you the feeling of hopelessness can and will stop in the time it takes you to accept Him into your heart? He is listening to you right now. He is interested in your plans, your dreams and better yet, He has plans for you! His plans are for life and a life filled with His Love, which begins by forgiving your sins. He remembers them no more.
So, how about it? Just talk to him from your heart and ask him to come into your life and forgive you. There is a verse in the bible, you might recognize it: 16 For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten ([d]unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. [John 3:16]. One more thing…God doesn’t lie. Believe in your redemption and believe in remission of sin. That is what Christ Jesus did for you on the cross so you would have everlasting life…and it begins right now, when you accepted Jesus into your heart. He takes away all the condemnation and guilt. He is your answer for today, tomorrow and all eternity.
I will be honest with you; it’s not going to be easy changing your life. But it will be worth it when you begin to see how God will work his mercy, his grace and his peace everyday on your behalf. In small ways you will see him answer your prayers. In big ways you will know he is present in the moment. Because He cares for you and he loves you with a love that is unconditional and unfailing. He is your partner in life!
Thank you for taking the time to read this post. It is just for you. In a way, it’s your Spiritual-Birthday! You are a new creation in Christ Jesus. You are transformed into a new person in him. He lives in you, in your heart. Get to know God, His Son Jesus. His Holy Spirit will teach you in the word, the bible. A good place to start is in the New Testament. Connect with a church and/ or another believer. Listen to Christian media (radio and television). Surround yourself with believers of God. Your newness of life has begun! Be filled with God’s goodness, with His Love and remain in Him and He will remain in YOU!
Jesus, we come with our hearts open to you. We are all sinners but you love us and gave your life on the Cross at Calvary for the remission of our sins. We receive you into our heart and believe in you as the Son of the Living God. Thank you for the gift of salvation and for your unfailing love. Amen
You are in my prayers…blessings!~Zoey
