My life is but a weaving between the Lord and me!

If you lay all these instructions before the brethren, you will be a worthy steward and a good minister of Christ Jesus, ever nourishing your own self on the truths of the faith and of the good [Christian] instruction which you have closely followed.

But refuse and avoid irreverent legends (profane and impure and godless fictions, mere grandmothers’ tales) and silly myths, and express your disapproval of them. Train yourself toward godliness (piety), [keeping yourself spiritually fit].

For physical training is of some value (useful for a little), but godliness (spiritual training) is useful and of value in everything and in every way, for it holds promise for the present life and also for the life which is to come.

This saying is reliable and worthy of complete acceptance by everybody.

10 With a view to this we toil and strive, [yes and] [a]suffer reproach, because we have [fixed our] hope on the living God, Who is the Savior (Preserver, Maintainer, Deliverer) of all men, especially of those who believe (trust in, rely on, and adhere to Him).

11 Continue to command these things and to teach them.

12 Let no one despise or think less of you because of your youth, but be an example (pattern) for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.

13 Till I come, devote yourself to [public and private] reading, to exhortation (preaching and personal appeals), and to teaching and instilling doctrine.

14 Do not neglect the gift which is in you, [that special inward endowment] which was directly imparted to you [by the Holy Spirit] by prophetic utterance when the elders laid their hands upon you [at your ordination].

15 Practice and cultivate and meditate upon these duties; throw yourself wholly into them [as your ministry], so that your progress may be evident to everybody.

16 Look well to yourself [to your own personality] and to [your] teaching; persevere in these things [hold to them], for by so doing you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let it be dismayed [John 14:27]…

FOR WE SHALL BEHOLD HIM…blessings~Zoey

I have flower envy! 🙂 I love this passage. So rich and delicious. I love that I am to be ever nourishing myself on His truth. That “good”( God is good!)so God instruction causes me to be a worthy steward and good minister. I love how God provides. He wants us to be all that He purposes to be. I also love that we are to be a pattern or example in our speech. I love it that we are to talk with a very clear heavenly accent. So that people will immediately recognize that we come from Christ. He tells us to speak like Christ, Love like Christ, and to have the faith of Christ, and Christ’s purity. WOW! All these things He tells us because He enables us to. He knows, that through Him we can do all things.

I also love that we are to progress in our gift. Right now, I am learning to progress in faith.

Thank you for a lovely word.

Soon you will have flowers and trees all around you, again! I really like your insight on the character traits of Christ to be a…”pattern or example in our speech.” It’s hard to break those bad patterns we’ve used for a crutch or habitually. Swear words, half-truths, verbal abuse, lies and gossip, can slip into our communication so easily, even as Christians we are not immune to this happening. But I remember something Joyce Myers highlighted about sin slip ups, we have to not over react with self-punishment or allow other people to punish us with guilt/condemnation. Satan loves to mess up a christian mind with games and persecution, he will not stop until God lifts up a standard against him. We need forgiveness. We need to forgive ourselves. We need to seek forgiveness to the best of our ability. This standard is the example of Christ Jesus in the believers life. What a wonderful hope we have in the Living Word…Jesus! We can go to Him and He is faithful to forgive us our sins and get us back on track and moving on…”pressing towards the mark of high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”[Philp.3:14] Bless you my friend~Zoey

  2. These are some great verses that help us all to see the need to be more like Christ. Thanks Zoey for the encouraging verses!

  3. Your post is very good. Please keep up your good work and Eph 6:18.
    Blessings to you.
