James 1: 21-24
21 So get rid of all uncleanness and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness, and in a humble (gentle, modest) spirit receive and welcome the Word which implanted and rooted [in your hearts] contains the power to save your souls.
22 But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth].
23 For if anyone only listens to the Word without obeying it and being a doer of it, he is like a man who looks carefully at his [own] natural face in a mirror;
24 For he thoughtfully observes himself, and then goes off and promptly forgets what he was like.
The news was heard that Air Asia 8501 had lost contact with the traffic controllers that recent Sunday morning December 28, at 6.15 am. The wreckage was identified 3 days later. All 162 on board had lost their lives.
I wonder what occupied the minds of those who boarded the plane that morning to their last flight and last day in life. Had they an unsettled score with a loved one? Was there work unfinished, never to be finished? Were they owing so much and thank God, they will not have to work all their life to repay the loans? Had they cheated someone and ran out of time to make right? Were they ready to meet God?
Death came so swiftly, no time for a second chance, no time anymore, even for deciding for Christ.
Life snuffed in a second.
