Aim your rifle.
…this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. [Philippians 3:13]
Our age is neurotic because we are drawn in so many directions. Money, romance, leisure, power, popularity, pleasant sensations –we want all of them, and we go galloping off in pursuit of them. We end up catching none of them. Like a rifle, life is ineffective unless it is aimed. Paul could say, “This one thing I do,” because he had found one thing worth giving everything for. To make a Christian commitment is to say, “My whole life shall be focused on one thing: to do the will of Christ.”
~Forgive us, Lord, that we have had so many gods. [Idols of the heart] Give us the peace that comes with complete dedication to Thy will. Amen~
Yes, Lord, We give tribute in our Nation to those who did take up their rifles for the pursuit of better way of Life and Liberty. We can proudly reflect on the American Way, because of the foundation they forged. May their sacrifice be not in vain as we remember the historical purpose of Freedom and Honor. Let it remind us to give thanks to your Glory, Father God. Amen
