With a Heart of Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is our celebration of America and other Nations finding unity in a time where to break bread and share in the fellowship with one another was deepening the Blessings of God. ~Zoey 2020

Please join with me in my devotion: Jesus Calling by Sarah Young

YOUR TIMES ARE IN MY HANDS. So trust in Me, beloved. I am training you to feel secure in the midst of change and uncertainty. It can actually be a relief to realize you are not in control of your life. When you accept this human condition while resting in My sovereignty, you become increasingly free .

I am not telling you to be passive or fatalistic. It’s important to use your energy and abilities, but I want you to do so prayerfully. Pray about everything, and search for Me in your moments. I am a God of surprises, so look for Me in unexpected places.

I invite you to rejoice in this day that I have made, asking Me to orchestrate its details and events. Since I am in control of your times, you don’t have to be anxious about making things happen faster. Rushing and anxiety go had in hand, and I have instructed you not to be anxious. If you let Me set the pace, I will bless you with Peace that transcends all understanding.

But I trust in you, O LORD’ I say, “You are my God.” My times are in your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me. ~Psalm 31:14-15

This the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. ~Psalm 118:24

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with THANKSGIVING, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4:6-7

The Hero of the Heart

True Hero_2014

Where did that little funny face kid go?

The one who always had a shoelace untied?

Who’s shirt buttons hung by a thread,

Toys a scattered, flat bike tires and

eyes bright with excitement!

Tall you stand today, sure of your words

And strong with your thoughts.

A quiet, gentle grace and smile that melts

the heart.

Today a man – that God did lift up

Is where that little boy did go…

A man that brings honor to his Faith,

Family and the Country he serves.

Blessed is a man who’s God is the Lord.

Have you ever Realized your own worth? by Walter Moore, D.D.

Sea of Galilee_2014

Devotion by Walter Moore, D.D.

“It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost, and is found.”   [Luke:15:32]

In showing us the Father, Jesus also revealed to us our brothers.  The love of God has as its corollary the lovableness of men.  The price of redemption implies a corresponding worth in the redeemed.  God so loved the world that He gave his son to save it, so mankind must be very precious in His sight.  When Jesus shows us the face of the Father, we cannot but see mirrored in that face the worth of His children.  The Christian experience gives us a new vision of God, and also a no less revolutionary discover of mankind.

~Our blessed Lord, we thank thee for teaching us to look up into the face of our Father in heaven.  Enable us to see our brothers everywhere on earth.  Amen.  (Prayer of Walter Moore)

God enrich your life with His unfailing Love through Christ Jesus! Blessings~Zoey

Proverbs 31 Challenge ~ Chapter 7

Proverbs_31

Proverbs 7

Amplified Bible (AMP)

7 My son, keep my words; lay up within you my commandments [for use when needed] and treasure them.

Keep my commandments and live, and keep my law and teaching as the apple (the pupil) of your eye.

Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.

Say to skillful and godly Wisdom, You are my sister, and regard understanding or insight as your intimate friend—

That they may keep you from the loose woman, from the adventuress who flatters with and makes smooth her words.

For at the window of my house I looked out through my lattice.

And among the simple (empty-headed and emptyhearted) ones, I perceived among the youths a young man void of good sense,

Sauntering through the street near the [loose woman’s] corner; and he went the way to her house

In the twilight, in the evening; night black and dense was falling [over the young man’s life].

10 And behold, there met him a woman, dressed as a harlot and sly and cunning of heart.

11 She is turbulent and willful; her feet stay not in her house;

12 Now in the streets, now in the marketplaces, she sets her ambush at every corner.

13 So she caught him and kissed him and with impudent face she said to him,

14 Sacrifices of peace offerings were due from me; this day I paid my vows.

15 So I came forth to meet you [that you might share with me the feast from my offering]; diligently I sought your face, and I have found you.

16 I have spread my couch with rugs and cushions of tapestry, with striped sheets of fine linen of Egypt.

17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

18 Come, let us take our fill of love until morning; let us console and delight ourselves with love.

19 For the man is not at home; he is gone on a long journey;

20 He has taken a bag of money with him and will come home at the day appointed [at the full moon].

21 With much justifying and enticing argument she persuades him, with the allurements of her lips she leads him [to overcome his conscience and his fears] and forces him along.

22 Suddenly he [yields and] follows her reluctantly like an ox moving to the slaughter, like one in fetters going to the correction [to be given] to a fool or [a]like a dog enticed by food to the muzzle

23 Till a dart [of passion] pierces and inflames his vitals; then like a bird fluttering straight into the net [he hastens], not knowing that it will cost him his life.

24 Listen to me now therefore, O you sons, and be attentive to the words of my mouth.

25 Let not your heart incline toward her ways, do not stray into her paths.

26 For she has cast down many wounded; indeed, all her slain are a mighty host.

27 Her house is the way to Sheol (Hades, the place of the dead), going down to the chambers of death.

Bless the Lord, O’ My Soul

My devotion brought me the following message.  I call it Boots on the Ground.  God is on the move and is calling believers to go out and live victorious lives for Him.  The healing starts in the soul of each person.  Healing from sin and deep wounds that are deep within our souls.  The word of God calls our soul – a persons’ true self.  The key to rebuking the evil within is to heal the hurt within your soul.  Bless the Lord Oh my Soul and all that is within in me…Bless the Holy Name of the Lord!  It commands the evil spirit to leave your soul man and healing begins from the Lord in that place of deep sin and deep wounds we have experienced in our lifetime.

Believers, please understand that God sees our souls and he sees us in the flesh.  Although, we can only see flesh when we look at each other but in the ‘spirit eye of the Lord’, we can stand in the power of the Holy Spirit against the enemy.

Pray for each other and stand firm in the unyielding and unfailing love of God.  Study what the word LOVE means.  It is strength.  It is strong but without harm to another.  It has the power to separate the soul and bone.  It is life…resurrected life.  Our salvation in Jesus brings us the hope of being a new creation.  Live life in the fullness of the Lord.  Without regret.  Without doubt.  Without fear.  Life is trusting each new day is full of tender mercies that God has design especially for YOU!  Then go, go, go and be a light to others…He is with you…even unto the uttermost parts of the World!  Blessings ~Zoey

MY DEVOTION:

Boots on the Ground

A call to warriors

Of the Army of the Lord

Put on the full

Armor of God

Your helmet of Salvation

Guard you mind from

The strongholds of the enemy,

Those who listen will hear

His commands.

The Truth will go forth and

Not return void.

From battle to battle we conquer.

Hold tight your Shield of Faith

Stand firm unmoved by the attack

Of Deception – for it is dark and light

Though it is powerless against the Faithful

Of the Lord who come in the Name of Jesus

And the Blood of the Lamb of God.

Cinch the Belt of Truth tight- girded with

the Breastplate of the Righteousness of God

Your whole armor secure- for deep and wide

Are the valleys of the enemy.

Take the Sword of the Spirit

And Proclaim Your Victory in the Name of Jesus!

Swift and tireless your feet shall go in Victory-

Bringing Peace for all Eternity

For the Kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

All Hail King Jesus, shall be your cry

Hail the coming King of King and Lord of Lord!

Ready the trumpet of the Lord!

Proclaim the Day of Salvation!

Set Free the captive,

Release the prisoner from darkness,

Comfort all who mourn,

Provide for those who grieve in Zion.

Theirs is a Garment of Praise and a Crown of beauty!

Prevail o’ mighty warrior of the Lord.

The favor of our God is upon you,

In Power, In Strength and in Wisdom.

Thanks be to God and to His Glory Forever. Amen

Oaks of Righteousness

Abraham tree_11.13

My Devotions:    Isaiah 61

9:  “Their descendants will be known among the nations and their offspring among the peoples, all who see them will acknowledge that they are a people the Lord has blessed.”

We as Americans have such a rich inheritance through our history as a nation and individually through our family ancestries.  What I think on is how God has given equal opportunity for the individual to share in His favor.  If our ancestries are not that great, we have the same opportunity to start a new thing…it is never too late to make a new beginning with God.

To understand the favor of God, is to read the story of Ruth.  She sadly was a  widow, losing everything, yet she started out again with her mother ‘n law Naomi.  They were very, very poor.  But God’s favor was upon them. They (Ruth and Naomi) soon were taken under the care of Boaz and the rest became history, so to speak.  A new beginning…God’s favor upon an obedient and faithful heart.  I encourage you to study the story of Ruth.

My prayer:

Father God,  You are like an oak of righteousness.  You are  shade to the traveler.  You are a shelter for the lost to be found.  You are a marker for generations who will know of their heritage.  You are the seeds of life to the barren tree.   You are our God and there is none like you….and I praise your holy name…El’-God…Mighty in Strength!

Here is a little bit of information (National Geographic)

Abraham’s Oak, West Bank

Worshipped for centuries, Abraham’s Oak in the West Bank’s Mamre Valley near Hebron

(pictured above in the 1890s) marks the spot where the founding father of Israel is said to have been visited by angels and promised a son.

This tabor oak may be up to 5,000 years old and the remnant of forests that once spread across the region. The religious story around the tree warns that it will die before the appearance of the antichrist. The main stem of the tree has been dead since 1996, but a sprout a couple of years later offered hope.

In Hebrew the words for oak, allon and elon, are associated with the word for God—el.
