Via Dolorosa

There are few places in Jerusalem like the Via Dolorosa – where history holds more meaning to both Jews and Christians alike.  I fondly remember this part of my  personal pilgrimage some 27yrs ago, down the beautiful 14 stations of the Cross to Calvary.  I would like to share a link to a site – where you can virtually take the walk too, along the actual Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem.  It is one of the best I have found and is hosted by Jerusalem.com.  May God Bless your time watching the wonderful beauty of the stations of the Cross.  170305B5EFBC40E786BCA4A294C2AA67.ashx

Jesus is a Good Shepherd

Good Shepherd2016

What a comfort to know that Jesus has our path prepared for our life.  I know for me, it is an anchor.

Sometimes when I need to drive to a place I have never been before, it can become an adventure that really can be frustrating if I’m not prepared with the directions ahead of time.

But here in the Word, the bible tells us that in John 10:1-2, Jesus will go on ahead and lead His Sheep on the path which will lead to safe pastures.

John 10:vs 1  “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up from some other place [on the stone wall], that one is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep [the protector and provider].”

Another great verse is Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].

If you have not accepted the Lord into your life, I invite you to find the Good Shepherd (who is calling your name to follow Him) and believe in His Good plan for your life.  Get to know Him in His Word, talk to Him as you go about your day and be filled with His Holy Spirit in your heart.  He will forgive  your missteps and restore hope back to your everyday life.

My Prayer:

Thank you Jesus for being a Good Shepherd, you show us the way to you…the Good Path.  Jesus, I pray for the one who is searching for a better way – help them to see that you are waiting to fill them with Your unfailing love and peace.  Yes, Lord, you are only a prayer away. Amen

~Bless you

Freedom in Christ

One aspect of Freedom in Christ is the knowledge of the Word. In fact, the Apostle Paul teaches in Galations 5:1 “In [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off].”   Art history shows us many drawings done during the gospel journey by the people of Ephesus, Greece, Turkey and Corinth and in Jerusalem. These were hand drawn on walls, stones and animal skins and parchments. They told a story… a testimony of the times.

Today, our technology allows us to reach out to the other side of the world in a matter of seconds. We can view the heavens and have a bird’s view of our planet Earth, courtesy of NASA. I wonder what the Apostle James would have thought if he could have the modern technology of today to write about the events during his days? Although,  we still have the class of folks who keep to old school ways where pencil and paper still is the cat’s meow…so to speak.

My Devotion:  James 5

Come now, you rich [people], weep aloud and lament over the miseries (the woes) that are surely coming upon you.

Your abundant wealth has rotted and is ruined, and your [many] garments have become moth-eaten.

Your gold and silver are completely rusted through, and their rust will be testimony James 5_2015against you and it will devour your flesh as if it were fire. You have heaped together treasure for the last days.

James 5_42015

[But] look! [Here are] the wages that you have withheld by fraud from the laborers who have reaped your fields, crying out [for vengeance]; and the cries of the harvesters have come to the ears of the Lord of hosts.

[Here] on earth you have abandoned yourselves to soft (prodigal) living and to [the pleasures of] self-indulgence and self-gratification. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.

James 5_52015

You have condemned and have murdered the righteous (innocent man), [while] he offers no resistance to you.James 5_102015

So be patient, brethren, [as you wait] till the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits expectantly for the precious harvest from the land. [See how] he keeps up his patient [vigil] over it until it receives the early and late rains.

James 5_212015

James 5_Freedom2015So you also must be patient. Establish your hearts [strengthen and confirm them in the final certainty], for the coming of the Lord is very near.

Do not complain, brethren, against one another, so that you [yourselves] may not be judged. Look! The Judge is [already] standing at the very door.

James 5_12201510 [As] an example of suffering and ill-treatment together with patience, brethren, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord [as His messengers].

11 You know how we call those blessed (happy) who were steadfast [who endured]. You have heard of the endurance of Job, and you have seen the Lord’s [purpose and how He richly blessed him in the] end, inasmuch as the Lord is full of pity and compassion and tenderness and mercy.

12 But above all [things], my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath; but let your yes be [a simple] yes, and your no be [a simple] no, so that you may not sin and fall under condemnation.James 5_202015

James 5_112015

13 Is anyone among you afflicted (ill-treated, suffering evil)? He should pray. Is anyone glad at heart? He should sing praise [to God].

14 Is anyone among you sick? He should call in the church elders (the spiritual guides). And they should pray over him, anointing him with oil in the Lord’s name.

15 And the prayer [that is] of faith will save him who is sick, and the Lord will restore him; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

cross-and-jubilent-arms-uplifted16 Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

17 Elijah was a human being with a nature such as we have [with feelings, affections, and a constitution like ours]; and he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and no rain fell on the earth for three years and six months.

18 And [then] he prayed again and the heavens supplied rain and the land produced its crops [as usual].

19 [My] brethren, if anyone among you strays from the Truth and falls into error and another [person] brings him back [to God],

20 Let the [latter] one be sure that whoever turns a sinner from his evil course will save [that one’s] soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins [[a]procure the pardon of the many sins committed by the convert].

James 5_12015

Dear Father in Heaven,
thank you for loving me. I admit that I
have sinned against you. Please
forgive me of my sins. I believe
Jesus is the son of God and that
He paid for all my sins with his
blood on the cross. I invite Jesus
into my life to walk with me each
day. I accept his sacrifice for me
and his forgiveness of my sins.
Because of my confession, I will go to
be with him when I die. Thank
you again for loving me so much.
Amen

Just for You

?????????????????????????????????

Are you wondering what the heck happened to your life??? You thought your dreams were attainable or at least you were hopeful. But there you sit, depressed. Alone. Drinking and doing drugs to unconsciousness. Nothing is interesting on T.V. Nothing is interesting…period. You hate your life, you hate this dead-end job, your family doesn’t understand you and the so-called friends in your life are disappointing, at best!

The sounds in your mind beat like angry spirits. Hey, I know this is a confusing time. I am certain that death is not the answer. You might have thought about killing yourself. Don’t do it! Just don’t think that way! You don’t have to take your life to escape the pain of disappointments, in yourself, in people you trusted, in failed plans.

I don’t have an answer why we get to these places in life. We made a wrong turn and ended up here, nowhere. Blame it on drugs, sex and rock n’ roll, blame it on crime, blame it on a bad marriage, blame it on someone, someplace…something, right? But avoidance only carries you so far and then you have to look at yourself. So, let’s not blame, okay?

Here is an exercise that might help. You can do it right where you are sitting. Close your eyes or just look down (in case you’re in public). Ask yourself, what do you have to lose if you give your life to Christ Jesus? Be honest. Be real. Review your decline over the last few days, months or years. What if I told you the feeling of hopelessness can and will stop in the time it takes you to accept Him into your heart? He is listening to you right now. He is interested in your plans, your dreams and better yet, He has plans for you! His plans are for life and a life filled with His Love, which begins by forgiving your sins. He remembers them no more.

So, how about it? Just talk to him from your heart and ask him to come into your life and forgive you. There is a verse in the bible, you might recognize it: 16 For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten ([d]unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. [John 3:16]. One more thing…God doesn’t lie. Believe in your redemption and believe in remission of sin. That is what Christ Jesus did for you on the cross so you would have everlasting life…and it begins right now, when you accepted Jesus into your heart. He takes away all the condemnation and guilt. He is your answer for today, tomorrow and all eternity.

I will be honest with you; it’s not going to be easy changing your life. But it will be worth it when you begin to see how God will work his mercy, his grace and his peace everyday on your behalf. In small ways you will see him answer your prayers. In big ways you will know he is present in the moment. Because He cares for you and he loves you with a love that is unconditional and unfailing. He is your partner in life!

New Creation_1

Thank you for taking the time to read this post. It is just for you. In a way, it’s your Spiritual-Birthday! You are a new creation in Christ Jesus. You are transformed into a new person in him. He lives in you, in your heart. Get to know God, His Son Jesus. His Holy Spirit will teach you in the word, the bible. A good place to start is in the New Testament. Connect with a church and/ or another believer. Listen to Christian media (radio and television). Surround yourself with believers of God. Your newness of life has begun! Be filled with God’s goodness, with His Love and remain in Him and He will remain in YOU!

Let’s pray:

Jesus, we come with our hearts open to you. We are all sinners but you love us and gave your life on the Cross at Calvary for the remission of our sins. We receive you into our heart and believe in you as the Son of the Living God. Thank you for the gift of salvation and for your unfailing love. Amen

You are in my prayers…blessings!~Zoey

My ALL in ALL, 5 Feb 2014

praying hands 2*note: from this day forward, I will continue be inspired by the book “My ALL in ALL,” by author Robert J. Morgan, but will not be coordinating the scriptures based on the way they are laid out in the book. I will be presenting them on what the Holy Ghost presents to me through prayer.

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling: (5) One LORD, one faith, one baptism, (6) One GOD, and Father of all, and in you all. (7) But, unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of CHRIST.”

(Ephesians 4 vs 4-7, KJV)

As I have remarked before, the word “all” is a word that is used to include everything and everyone. In the book of Ephesians, Paul is asking that we seek unity among us.

Unity in our churches, where disention is often brought upon by a differences of opinions “hidden” among the population of members.

In our homes, arguments, and bad feelings can lead to a breakdown of our families.. The very place where we go to seek comfort and refuge can now be a battleground.

But, how does that happen? Satan likes us to be ALONE, separated from our FAITH, hidden in the DARK, outcast.

How can we fix this? By praying for unity, talking over problems, keeping feeling out in the open, not hidden in the dark.

If the God/Jesus/Holy Spirit is no longer the Head of your home, and you have replaced Him with unrest, you are no longer acting in the unity that Paul is calling for.

….one body, one Spirit, one LORD, one faith, one God, one Father who is: above ALL and in you ALL.

Pray for this..and I will see you tomorrow!
