judgement

Judgment in the most unpredictable places. As I am leaving Church today a 20 something woman  looks down at my feet and with disgust in her eyes she stares. Which makes me think whoa Matthew 7:2. I am tattooed. I would think to expect this from an elder but from this girl. I do a lot in women’s ministries and meet lots of people. I don’t think has ever been an issue before. I am alive in the light of Jesus. So this got me thinking about judgment and how we may not realize that judgment shows and man oh man does it scream! The other day leaving a grocery store hands full this homeless man out side says spare some change. I look deep into his eyes and with a smile says not today. Walking away the Holy spirit convicted me. ” Good for you acknowledging him as a child of God but not good enough my child.. You didn’t want to be inconvenienced to put down your bags and looks for change as my child stands in the rain!” I put my bags in the car and dumped my wallet out and then walked back to him placed all the change from my wallet ( Mom of 4 that’s all I have left)  into his hand smile and say take care. I try really hard not to judge. I raise my children to be the same. We all judge. But what is the judgment you pass say about you? Please consider that your judgment is not required you are only called to love one another. Consider this the next time you think your judgment is not noticed…

John 13:34-35

New International Version (NIV)

34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Are you loving or judging? Are you encouraging or discouraging?  Are walking a Christ like life? Is that cross that symbolizes unconditional love just a pretty pendant on your necklace?
